Due to some necessary system updates, a number of antiSMASH services will be down for the next couple of days.
We're hoping to complete most of the work by Tuesday, but experience tells us that rebooting systems that have been running for a while tends to lead to surprise hardware failures, so we can't promise an exact time we'll be back at.
Affected services are:

We'll be updating this post during this time to give some updates on the services coming back.
- Update 2024-08-26 17:24 UTC: Unfortunately we've had some hardware failures in some of our older machines. We're currently trying to move affected services to some of the other machines while we wait for spare parts.
- Update 2024-08-29 10:42 UTC: We have received the required spare parts and are in the process of getting the last server back up and running again. Unless anything else goes wrong, we expect to be operational again on the morning of 2024-08-30, European time.
- Update 2024-08-29 12:51 UTC: Something else did go wrong, so our current best guess is to have services coming back online on Friday afternoon, European time.
- Update 2024-08-29 13:34 UTC: We've shuffled some things around to get the download server back up as that was blocking people's local antiSMASH installs.
